🏆 Coach of the Month – Thomas Pollard

This month, we’re proud to recognize Coach Thomas Pollard as our Dallas Surf Coach of the Month.

Thomas has built something special with his 11G East team — not only in their development as players but in the way they’ve embraced giving back. His leadership has inspired his players to volunteer weekly with younger “Littles” teams, assist at community events, and show what it truly means to represent Dallas Surf on and off the field.

Coach Thomas leads with humility, positivity, and purpose. He’s the kind of coach who doesn’t just teach soccer — he builds character, connection, and community.

We’re grateful for everything he continues to do for his players and for the standard he sets across our club.

As one parent beautifully shared:

“You’ve built such an incredible sense of morale and community among these players, and you’re setting the perfect example of what it means to give back. I have no doubt that your influence is a big reason those girls show up early, volunteer their time, and pour into the younger ones. That says everything about the kind of coach — and person — you are.”

Undefeated in all competition U10 including spring and fall tournaments for MSA rec league.
Tournament of Champions x2 with a runner up finish
Probably other stuff, but don’t keep a trophy shelf. 🙂

Q: Why do you coach?

I love soccer. I love being able to work with kids
I coach for the “lightbulb” moments.
I coach to be a positive impact on kids to help them be the best version of themselves on and off the pitch.

Thomas is more than a coach — he’s a mentor, a role model, and an example of what servant leadership looks like within our club.

We’re proud to recognize him as our Dallas Surf Coach of the Month for the impact he continues to make on and off the field.

Coach of the Month: Quar Willis

We’re excited to highlight Coach Quar Willis as our September Coach of the Month!

“I’ve recently had the chance to spend time with Quar both on the field with his teams at training and at our recent Coach Engagement Night. His communication with players and the way he guides and develops them was fantastic to see.

Even after 20+ years coaching, Quar still shows passion for learning. He’s willing to ask questions, show vulnerability, and stay engaged during and after coaching events. This month, he went the extra step of earning a new certification: Football Theory Level 1 by Raymond Verheijen, a course that emphasizes using universal references and objective knowledge.

We’re proud to celebrate Quar’s commitment to his players, his learning, and his dedication to Kaizen — our guiding principle of continuous improvement within the Surf culture.”
