Surf Select Program

What is Surf Select?

The Surf Select program brings together the most talented players and coaches from all of Surf Nation to compete together under the Surf banner at the highest levels and in front of college coaches and professional scouts.

Through a series of local, regional and national events, players within Surf Nation, will be selected to represent the club in national and international competitions.

Surf Select Program 2021

After a number of local, regional and national ID events, the Surf Select Program was in full swing during the Summer of 2021.

The Girls 2006 & 2004 teams participated at the Surf Cup, San Diego California, where our 2006 team reached the semi-final.

Boys 2007, 2006 & Girls 2007, 2005 teams travelled to the world class Omni Resort facilities in Orlando Florida, to play against a number of ECNL & MLS Next clubs.

Also in August, the Boys 2005 & 2004 teams travelled to Valencia, Spain to face high quality European opposition including Torre Levante, CD Castellón & CD Onda.

DME Academy, Daytona FL hosted the first Surf Select Residential camp. For 60 players born 2010-2008, with 12 different Surf clubs represented across the country.

Our Boys & Girls 2010, 2009, 2008 teams will travel to Spain in November 2021 to participate in the Surf Cup International, Salou.

Surf Select ID Events 2021-22 Season

The first selection for our 2022 program happens at the club level, with the Directors of Coaching submitting player recommendations to Surf Nation.

Players are then invited to regional and national ID events. These consist of 2-3 day training weekends or residential camps, where players have the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of the Surf Select coaches.

These events also include off field education for our players, helping to instill the Surf core values and style of play!

2022 COMPETITIVE CALENDAR

The ‘Best of the Best’ players selected through our identification process will have the opportunity in 2022 to represent the whole Surf Nation in some of the best national and international youth soccer competitions.
